Home Sweet Home!

Well, what an eventful few weeks! As most of you know, my youngest daughter was hospitalized last weekend with a horrible virus and is finally home again! We went to the hospital on Thursday (for what we thought might be an overnight stay) and ended up with a 4 day marathon event. She was so sick, and honestly, it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I can't convey how difficult it is to watch your own child endure the constant poking, prodding, and discomfort involved with a hospital stay. I can't imagine what parents of "truly ill" children face on a daily basis, and for that I will be eternally grateful (my heart really goes out to them)! Anyway, she's doing much better now, and M and I are so thankful for all of you who lifted our family up in prayer during those rough days. AND... a big shout out to my in-laws who came down on a moments notice to take care of our other kids while M and I attend to little L. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

L not too happy to be at the hospital!

L starting to feel a little better!

M and L making the best of the situation!

L helping pack once we found out we get to go home (right before her IV was removed)!

Anyway, thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers! It truly sustained us in a very trying time, and we are so lucky to have such a great support group of family and friends!

  1. Oh how scary Erin! I am so glad to hear that all is well!

  2. I'm so glad she's home and so much better!!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!

  3. I found your blog through Lindsays, holy crap lots of people are blogging these days!!! So glad your baby is feeling better, those pictures don't even look like her!!!

I have a blog but its set to private, can you email me through meetup and give me your email address so I can invite you.... wow that's complicated!!

Glad to hear more about your life.... I don't see your awesome smile much anymore!!!

  4. We've definitely been there Erin. If we can avoid hospitalization, we do at all costs. We even opted to stay home when baby Caden had RSV penumonia, and what do ya know, he ended up healing up well at home in a week or two! Praise God for physicians, but sometimes I just want to trust in the Lord and stay away from them. I bet we had the same virus--it lasted in our house for almost a month! It was BAD. Glad you're home and I'm so glad you had some help and support to man the homefront so you could focus on your little one. What a blessing!
